About this project: The most unique art project was the Symbolic map; it is my own biography but because it is an art class, I didn’t write it drew it. For my map I used some of the most important things about me as an inspiration for the places that make up my map. My map is a candy land because I love sweets and people usually describe me as being a sweet person. The most important symbols in my map are:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Park: This Park represents how important my dog is for me; he has been next to my side since the day I bought him. His love and friendship is so pure, sincere and unconditional I couldn’t ask for a better friend.
Berries Airport: It was extremely important for my map to have an airport because traveling is my favorite thing to do in life. Since I was a baby, my parents took me with them to their trips. My best memories are from my trips around the world. During my trips, I don’t have obligations, pressures or stress it’s all about fun, shopping, relaxing and visiting new places (learning new things). Besides of the amazing experiences every trip gives me, it also joins my family together and gives us the chance to share some time together; this airport’s name honors my family last name Mora in English blackberry.
Heart Candies Dock: Every heart symbolizes a family member. My family is huge and each cousin, uncle, aunt, grandpa and grandma owns a special piece of my heart. Family means everything to me, they have been next to me since I was born and we have shared the most amazing experiences and lessons together. Every time I see them, my worries fly away and their love gives me strength. I would do anything for my family.
Reflection: As I mentioned before, the symbolic map was the most creative and fun project. It was difficult choosing some of the most important things about me because there are many. It was fun and challenging coming up with pictures to show my symbols. I like all type of details in my drawings but in this case we had to use watercolors so it took me lots of time to get used to it and finish my project. When coloring the small details I freaked out because they couldn’t be distinguished at first but once dried I tried to fix them; it was also challenging matching the colors every class because at times they weren’t the same. By looking back at my project I realize I missed some pretty important things about me. I wish I have included something that symbolizes my religion and some of my dreams and goals because God is what keeps me going on and every achievement I do it for making my biggest dreams and goals come true. If I were going to make a new map, I would definitely include them.
